Rosewater Wedding – David and Maude

This wedding at the Rosewater in downtown Toronto was much more personal to me. David has been a good friend of my brother’s since the elementary school days. He used to come over with his twin brother Matt to play SNES with us. Flash forward 20 years or so later and he’s marrying the beautiful Maude in an intimate and tear filled ceremony in front of their friends and family.

Maude and her bridesmaids had their hair done at the Aveda Institute early in the morning. Maude wore a beautiful dress that was originally worn by her grandmother and her mother. She made a few alterations to add her personal touch. They say it’s not just the dress that has been handed down, but also the love. David and Maude shared their first look just outside the Rosewater and the reaction on David’s face was simply priceless.

The forecast called for rain throughout the day but we were lucky to have dodged it during the wedding party photographs at St-James park. The wind was howling but that didn’t deter the wedding party from celebrating with some glasses of champagne.

Throughout the evening, we were rewarded with great speech after speech. The glasses were clinking all night after every speech and the tears were rolling. They even threw in some surprises for the couple. Several of Maude’s aunts even did an Elvis impersonation act; truly fantastic and original. When it came down to the groom’s speech, he did not disappoint. Anybody that knows David, knows that he is usually a man of very few words. To our surprise, David might have delivered one of the best and most heartfelt speeches of the year.
